Silas broke her heart when he left two years ago.

Now he’s back and wants to pick up where they left off.

Miriam loves working for the local professional arena soccer team. She’s gearing up for the Storm’s best season yet but the new lineup has one major problem—Silas Jenkins. The guy who broke her heart has returned, and she’ll have to play nice or risk losing her dream job.

Silas made the biggest mistake of his life two years when he signed with a rival soccer team in hopes of pushing his career to the next level. He realized too late that he left the love of his life behind. Now, he’s trying to make things right. But between adoring fans and teammates with a grudge, he'll be lucky if Miriam gives him the time of day.

When Miriam and Silas are thrown together for outreach events, will old feelings be rekindled?

Or is Silas doomed to the penalty box forever?

–––––––-–––––––––πŸ“––––––––-–––––––––

Silas called her name.

She kept walking.

“Can we talk about what just happened?”

She spun around and held up her hand. “No, we can’t.”

i pretty much felt this way during the entire book, y'all.

Oh my gosh, where to start? Well...I loved this book. There, I said it. I. Loved. This. Book. Everything just felt soooooo REAL! The angst. The emotions. The dialogue. The relationships. Each chapter had me hooked, and left me wanting more. πŸ‘πŸ’—

πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

And I just needdddddd to talk about how swoony Silas was!!! When he was nostalgic...I swooned. When he was confused...I swooned. When he was romantic...I swooned. When he was nervous...I swooned. When he was frustrated...I swooned. He was just one HUGE swoonfest, y'all; which was absolutelyyyyyy fine with me!

heart. πŸ‘ eyes. πŸ‘ galore. πŸ‘

Okay, I don't trust myself to say anything else without spoiling the story for everyone...so I'm going to share some of my favorite parts. Sound good? I hope so, because it's happening either way! 😏

“So, what? You’re just going to ignore me for the rest of the season?”

“Of course not.” She twisted one of the bracelets in her hands.

“Then what?” Pleaseeeeee know that I want to share the rest of this convo, but I'm going to keep you in suspense because it's kind of spoiler-y. πŸ™ˆπŸ€

πŸ“–

“Miriam.”

She kept going. “You’re so good with them. I bet you have a lot of new fans at the next home game.”

“Stop.”

She pressed her lips together and looked up at Silas.

Another one that could be a spoiler if I share the whole thing...

(So. Much. Swooning.)

πŸ“–

Signing stuff for fans wasn’t the reason for his urgency. His motivations were entirely selfish. Silas wanted to see Miriam— especially since she disappeared after the first quarter.

πŸ“–

The voice inside his head was telling him to stop. He ignored it and put his hand next to hers anyway, barely brushing his fingers against hers as he did so. “I’m really glad you came tonight.”

πŸ“–

Miriam struggled to pay attention. As someone who worked in the office, she should have been focused on the short program they’d put together promoting the business. But the players were so close, and Silas was right there.

sooooo giddy 😊

Also! I absolutely adored that the book was centered around arena soccer; I know it's something that Kayla is a HUGE fan of, and it was fun to get a taste for the world she loves so much. πŸ˜πŸ‘

As far as content goes: Cleannnnnn!!!

So, I'm going to end the review by saying that this was a perfect second chance, sports romance...through and through. I diddddddd want it to be longer, but that's only because it was such a great read and I'm incredibly greedy. πŸ™ˆπŸ€£

One more thing!!! I can't wait for the other books in the series, y'all! I'm sure they'll be just as good as this one was!! πŸ™Œ

"I need a boyfriend. For the weekend."

Type A Madison Hudson has spent the last six years working toward the nutritionist position that’s almost in her grasp. She’s got the qualifications, the schooling, the perfect resume; all that’s left is to impress her future boss. Something a white lie about an imaginary boyfriend can achieve.

Computer nerd Eric Ward usually stays away from drama. But when his sister's roommate needs a boyfriend for a night, he can’t find an excuse to say no. How hard can one evening be? Pity no one told him what a knockout his fake girlfriend would be.

How long before their little white lie turns into a whole lot more than these two planned for?

–––––––-–––––––––πŸ“––––––––-–––––––––

“You must be my girlfriend,” he said in the same deep voice she’d heard moments before.

For the life of her, Madison couldn’t come up with a single word in response.
literally my reaction...except there was no one next to me, lol.

Y'all, I don't think I'll ever get tired of the "fake dating" trope. I just LOVEEEEEE seeing all those "fake feelings" turn into something absolutely beautiful and real; which is exactly what happened with Madison and Eric!! #swoonnnnnn 😍

Also, the fact that they both weren't expecting much from each other (mostly concerning looks), just added a little something extra to the story. That might seem kind of weird, lol, but I really liked it. 🀷‍♀️

you know i'm just teasing...

Let's bring out thoseeeeee quotes/lines!!

“I figured, if he thought I was in a committed relationship, he’d see me as a reliable employee.”

“Don’t you think he’s going to question your reliability—not to mention your mental stability—when he finds out you made the whole thing up?”
πŸ“–

“How am I doing, snookums?” Eric whispered in her ear. His warm breath surprised her, and all her thoughts about the job vanished.
πŸ“–

Had she really just said that? She wasn’t dating anyone. And she definitely didn’t have a boyfriend she talked about having children with.

πŸ“–

“I mean, there was this one guy that lived in the apartment next to me in Dallas that still owes me fifty bucks. So, I could move back there in hopes of getting that one day.”

πŸ“–

She wondered, for the hundredth time, how he was still single.

πŸ“–

Madison reached out to shove him jokingly, but he grabbed her hand and pulled her closer. The air between them immediately changed.
I want to share soooooo much more from this part, but I'm NOT going to because it'll just spoil things for y'all. 🀐

read the book, and you'll know what i'm talking about πŸ‘

If you follow me on Twitter, then you might've seen that I was fangirling about the book I was reading...and it was THIS BOOK, y'all!! I was catching all the feels because Madison and Eric were catching all the feels!! πŸ’—πŸ₯°

All this to say, I enjoyed the book so much! From the cute moments, to the sassy dialogue, to everyyyyy romantic detail: IT. WAS. GREAT.

As far as content goes: CLEANNNNN!!

“Kylee, will you marry me?”
If she hadn’t still been breathing, she would’ve checked for a pulse.
“M-marry you?”
“Not for real, of course!”

Struggling graphic designer Kylee Morgan would do just about anything to help Ryan Hudson, her very attractive friend she's been harboring feelings for for way too long. But, marry him? That might be taking things a little too far even for her.

Ryan is on the cusp of success with his new product line when things come to a crashing halt. He needs cash fast and his grandparent’s trust fund is the perfect solution. However, there’s one small requirement to get the money, he has to be married.

Will Kylee and Ryan play a convincing married couple? Or will things fall apart when Ryan's family gets involved?

–––––––-–––––––––πŸ“––––––––-–––––––––

Both of them had been laughing as he walked through the doorway, but the moment their eyes locked, there was something besides humor between them. Something electric.
this may or may not have been the face i made after reading that part, lol.

All right, onto the actual review!!

Fake relationship? Witty banter? LOADS OF FEELSSSSS???? I'm there. I am sooooo there. And this book? It was super cute, y'all.

no, i'm not being dramatic.

Also...can we talk about Ryan for a second? Good, because I just ABSOLUTELY adored him. He was the perfect combo of sweet and sarcastic, which was GOLDEN!!! Gahhhhhh, and I don't want to spoil anything--BUT--y'all need to know that he did some veryyyyyy romantic gestures in the book that were totally swoonworthy!

lovedddddddd him!

Now, shall I share some of my favorite parts/quotes? Oh yes...I shall.

She got about ten minutes into her attempt at a smoldering eye before frustratingly scrubbing it all off. Too relatable not to share, lol.

πŸ“–

That all those bright smiles and comments about the life they were about to start with each other weren’t a facade.

πŸ“–

Hey, I have a meeting with a prospective buyer this evening. I’ll probably be home around 8. -Ryan

The note gave her a surprising wave of pleasure. The fact that he’d thought enough to tell her where he was going to be made her feel special.

πŸ“–

“Don’t wait up for me,” he said with a grin.

“You have a nightly facial routine or something?” she asked with raised eyebrows.

“Cleanse, exfoliate, tone, moisturize…” Ryan counted off the imaginary steps on his fingers as he turned to walk out the door.

He felt a pillow hit his back, followed by a loud, “You’re ridiculous.”

πŸ“–

“Hey, pretty lady. What are you doing out here?”
You might have seen that I shared this one on Instagram, but I just HAD to share it here as well!!

what can i say? a good thing deserves to be shared more than once.

As far as content goes: CLEAN! (A total win for me. πŸ˜‰)

In closing, if you love Hallmark movies (like I do, lol) with an extra touch...I'm convinced you'll love this book. πŸ’•

Catch the final episode of Wedding Games and see how it all ends!

–––––––-–––––––––πŸ“––––––––-–––––––––

It was the most romantic setting she’d ever seen. And she wasn’t thinking about Harry.

Before I get into my review, I just want to say that the "Wedding Games" series should be read in order!!! Trust. Me.

there's really no option here. #justsaying

Okay, so I know that the book isn't a novella or a novelette, BUT being that it's the last book of the series...I really don't want to spoil anything!! So, I'm going to try my best not to. 😬

I HAVE to share my favorite lines/quotes though. And, well, you can't stop me.

where my star wars fans at???

She frowned. It didn’t make sense. “Why do you care?”

Milo opened his mouth and then snapped it shut.

Reagan’s heart was beating a mile a minute. “Milo, why do you care?” The question came out in a shaky whisper this time instead of a stern inquiry.

πŸ“–

Sienna gasped. “Excuse me? You did not just speak to my sister that way.”

LITERALLY one of my favorite lines, lol. 🀣

πŸ“–

She relaxed against him and found comfort with his arms surrounding her. “Have you started thinking about what you want?”

He rested his head on top of hers. “I have.”

πŸ“–

“I know you want to help. I know you want to make up for all the time you were away, and it’s hard to see someone you care about struggling. But this is her fight to figure out.”

πŸ“–

A glance at his face gave her the answer. She had never felt safer with anyone in her life. And that scared the living daylights out of her.

y'all know how much i love sharing my favorite parts! 😍

The Bridesmaid and Her Surprise Love was about so much more than just two people falling in love. It was a story about forgiveness, healing, growth, and what's truly important in life.

Don't worry though! There was definitely a HEA for Reagan and Milo, one that they both deserved after everything that happened. (I'll end up spoiling it if I say anything else, lol. Just trust me.) πŸ’•

As far as content goes: I think there was one curse word, but other than that, there wasn't any "actual" language. (Everyone does have different preferences and viewpoints on what counts as profanity though.) Unhealthy relationships were portrayed and discussed...plus there was also some mild innuendo/suggestive comments, but nothing too extreme.

All in all, this was SUCH a fun series. Despite the more serious themes, I was still able to swoon and smile on multiple different occasions. Also, I just really want to give a big shout-out to Kayla and Daphne for the HUGE amount of creativity they put into this series. While reading the books, I truly felt like I was in another world. πŸ‘πŸ’—
